Continuing in the series of warblers and flowers here is a Louisiana Waterthrush with a single purple flower next to it. This lush ground cover is some sort of Periwinkle plant and in my minimal research I can't tell if it's a native plant or not. In any case it was a beautiful area next to a small mountain stream and this fella was pretty much non-stop singing out his loud song. I got to watch him bounce around some mossy logs, down onto the rocks in these beds of flowers and feed on the rocks in the small stream. It was a great end to a lot of hiking that morning and it was nice to just sit down and watch this bird do its thing.
