I can't tell you how excited I was when I was able to add Prothonotary Warbler to my list of wide angle warblers this year. It's a style of photography I've been concentrating on in most of my free time this season, which is very limited so I haven't had a lot of time to try this out. To say this is challenging is a bit of an understatement but all the missed telephoto opportunities are entirely worth it when you get a shot like this. I loved this classic swampy habitat that opened up just a bit in this one area. Most southern New Jersey swamps are so dense you can barely see the sky let alone have an entirely open area like this. The playful peeking pose from the Prothonotary made this one a joy to me.
