It sure is challenging but incredibly fun to photograph birds with a wide angle lens. Thanks to these Snowy Egrets being incredibly habituated to people at this location it allows for a very close approach. It still requires some measure of slow movement when getting this close to not scare the birds. It doesn't look like I'm that close but I'm probably about 4 feet away from this Snowy Egret and shooting at 24mm. I set myself up in this spot becuase I liked how the water was flowing between the rocks and how that lead into the frame. The sky was incredible on this morning and made for a wonderful silhouette. Thankfully the second bird in the background finally turned it's head so it wasn't just a lump in the background.
