Hovering FIeld Sparrow

Hovering FIeld Sparrow

I spent a few minutes watching this Field Sparrow fly up, hover and try to grab a piece of grass and bring it to the ground to eat the seeds from it. The bird was repeating the process over and over again. Most time it would be behind branches or other grass but this one time it flew up into a small opening and hovered for a few seconds. I pointed the camera, pressed the shutter button and hoped everything would work as it should. I was so thrilled when I saw that I got 2 sharp frames of this cute little sparrow doing it's thing. Taken at Palmyra Cove Nature Park in southern New Jersey.
