Feeding Cape May Warbler

Feeding Cape May Warbler

On the last morning of my visit to Dry Tortugas I went out to spend time with the hundreds and hundreds of warblers on the island. I ended up haning out in this one area that had multiple Cape May Warblers feeding and chasing each other around. This male still had some decent colors on him so I concentrated on him as much as possible. He liked to stay just a litlte to high for eye-level photos but occasionally would drop down a bit lower and give me an opportunity. The entire area was in shade so I didn't have to worry about the sunlight ruining the shot and when he gave me this pose looking out over the leaves searching for insects I fired away. Keep in mind this was really close as I was shooting a 300mm only on my full-frame camera. It was so cool to watch their natural behavior in such close proximity.
