It was the end of a very long day of chasing warblers in the far northern reaches of New Hampshire with two great friends and we were all quite exhausted. It had been a while since we had any good photo opportunities when we heard a Blackburnian Warbler singing. We followed the song and it wasn't long before this gorgeous male was bouncing around in a spruce tree in front of the three of us. The light was just right and after taking a few more standard images I noticed this little opening in the foreground branches and dipped down to put the bird right in that area. It happened to work out that some small pops of yellow/orange color were in the background as well which tied things together quite nicely.
