Watching Arctic Terns effortlessly and gracefully fly over the marsh is quite the sight! I've been lucky enough to photograph a decent variety of tern species and Arctic Terns are easily the most elegant looking of those I've photographed. The long tail feathers and wings make for a gorgeous bird. At this point I had tons of photos of them against a nice clean green background and I noticed this one flying overhead for a good bit of time. I pointed the lens straight up exposed for the bird and let the overcast sky go white. I was hoping for a more symetrical pose but still enjoyed this shot with the only color being the splash of red from the beak.
